The four tiers, first
Tier | Usual value | How it is won in most lobby titles | How often |
Mini | 20x to 30x the stake | A Mini coin lands during respins | Common; several per session |
Minor | 50x to 100x | A Minor coin lands | A few per long session |
Major | 500x to 1,000x | A Major coin lands | Rare |
Grand | 1,000x to 5,000x | Every position filled with coins, or a Grand coin in some titles | Very rare |
In nearly every hold & win game at HoldWin the tiers are fixed multiples of the stake, so they rise and fall with the bet and the odds do not change. A few titles run a progressive Grand fed by play; the game page says so and shows the current pool. The values in the table are ranges across the lobby; the exact figures are in each paytable.
How a tier is won
The round begins when six or more coins land on one spin. The ordinary symbols clear, the coins stay, and three respins run on the empty positions. Each new coin locks and resets the count to three; each empty respin uses one. When the count reaches zero the round ends and every coin is paid: plain coins for their printed value, tier coins for the tier. If every position on the grid holds a coin before the count runs out, the round ends at once and the Grand is added on top.
That last rule is the one that matters for the Grand. On a five-by-three grid it takes fifteen coins, which means nine locks after the six that triggered the round, with the count never reaching zero in between. Collector coins, which gather every value on screen, and reset coins, which restore the count without adding a value, are the symbols that make it reachable. HoldWin lists which special coins each game has, because a game without a reset coin fills its grid far less often than one with it.
Coin values and the collect symbols
A plain coin carries a value drawn when it lands, from about one stake to about fifty in most titles, with the distribution weighted toward the low end. What lifts a round above the sum of plain coins is the collect family: a collector takes every value on the grid onto itself, a multiplier doubles or triples its neighbours, a mystery coin reveals a value or a tier at the end, and Playson's strike symbol re-rolls every value on screen. A round with one collector landing late can be worth twice the same round without it. HoldWin lists the special coins for each game beside the tier values, because the two together describe what a round can pay.
Bet size and eligibility
Because the tiers are fixed multiples of the stake, every stake is eligible for every tier in the fixed-tier games, and raising the stake raises the prize in proportion without changing the odds. The exception is the handful of progressive-Grand titles, where the pool is a EUR amount and a larger stake usually buys a larger chance at it; the rule is on the game page. Coin values scale the same way as the tiers, so a session's shape is the same at any stake and only the size changes. HoldWin recommends choosing the stake from the balance, two to three hundred stakes for a fair run of rounds, and never raising it to chase a tier.
The HoldWin lobby
3 Pyramids of Gold and 5 Relics of Power (3 Oaks)
Five-by-three grids, six-coin triggers, four tiers, and collector coins that gather the grid. The most opened hold & win pair in the lobby and the reference for the 3 Oaks house style.
Coin Strike and Crown Strike (Playson)
Five-by-three, six coins, four tiers, and the strike symbol that re-rolls every coin value. Higher plain-coin values than most, and a Major that lands more often than in busier designs.
Royal Joker and Energy Joker (Playson)
Classic fruit-and-joker artwork on the same round. Simple respins with plain and tier coins, for players who want the tiers without the extra symbols.
Sunny Coin 10000 and Coin Win (Gamzix)
Hold the Spin under Gamzix's name, with multiplier coins that double neighbours and a 10,000x top prize in Sunny Coin 10000 that replaces the Grand as the ceiling.
Thunder Coins XXL and Super Grand Link Express (3 Oaks)
Larger grids, which means more positions to fill for the Grand and more coins in an average round. Higher variance than the five-by-three titles.
Wolf Gold (Pragmatic Play)
Money Respin with Mini, Major and Mega tiers, the Mega fixed at 1,000x, on a five-by-three grid with money symbols instead of coins.
Game | Grid | Positions to fill | Special coins | Top prize |
3 Pyramids of Gold | 5 x 3 | 15 | Collector | Grand |
5 Relics of Power | 5 x 3 | 15 | Collector | Grand |
Coin Strike | 5 x 3 | 15 | Strike | Grand |
Royal Joker | 5 x 3 | 15 | None | Grand |
Sunny Coin 10000 | 5 x 3 | 15 | Multiplier | 10,000x |
Thunder Coins XXL | larger | more | Collector | Grand |
Wolf Gold | 5 x 3 | 15 | None | Mega, 1,000x |
Fixed Grand, progressive Grand
Most Grands on the shelf are fixed multiples of the stake, and a few are pools. The difference changes the reading of the plaque. A fixed Grand of 2,000x is worth 2,000 stakes at any bet and is won at the same odds at any bet. A progressive Grand is a EUR figure that climbs with play at HoldWin, and the chance of it usually rises with the stake, so a small stake is eligible but less likely. The fixed kind suits a player sizing a session by stakes; the progressive kind suits a player who wants the plaque to grow while they watch. HoldWin shows the current EUR figure for progressive Grands on the board and the multiple for fixed ones, and colours the two differently so the type is clear before the game loads.
Reading the tier panel
- Tier values. Four multiples of the stake, or a EUR figure for a progressive Grand.
- Full-grid rule. Whether filling every position pays the Grand automatically.
- Tier coins. Whether Mini, Minor and Major can land as coins, and whether a Grand coin exists.
- Special coins. Collector, multiplier, mystery, reset, strike, listed by name.
- Bet rule. Any stake at fixed odds for fixed tiers; stake-scaled odds for a progressive Grand.
A session in tiers
A demo log of three hundred spins of 3 Pyramids of Gold at HoldWin, at one stake. The round triggered five times. Round one: seven coins, 18 stakes. Round two: nine coins including a Mini, 41 stakes. Round three: six coins, no locks, 11 stakes. Round four: twelve coins with a collector landing on the last respin, 96 stakes. Round five: eight coins including a Minor, 74 stakes. No Major, no Grand. The base game between rounds returned about a third of the stakes wagered. The balance ended at 92 stakes from 100, having been as low as 61. That is a normal three hundred spins: several Minis, one Minor, and a collector deciding the best round.
Bonuses and wagering
Every promotion at HoldWin shows its wagering requirement, game weighting and stake cap while the bonus is active. Hold & win games count in full toward wagering unless the offer says otherwise. A Grand can move a bonus balance a long way in one round, and a stake above the cap while a bonus is active voids it, so the cap is the line to read first. Free spin awards are tied to a named game at a fixed stake, and their winnings carry the offer's wagering. Cashback, where offered, is calculated on net losses over the stated period with its own terms alongside.
Cashier
Balances are in EUR. Deposits by Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, Trustly and paysafecard are credited on confirmation. Withdrawals return to cards, e-wallets or bank transfer after identity and address verification; e-wallets are released first, and paysafecard cannot receive payouts. A document uploaded at sign-up keeps a Grand from waiting on checks.
- Visa and Mastercard. Deposits and withdrawals.
- Skrill and Neteller. Deposits and the quickest withdrawals.
- Trustly. Bank payments without card details.
- paysafecard. Prepaid deposits only.
Phone play
The lobby runs in any phone browser without an app. Hold & win games are built for portrait screens with the four tier plaques above the reels and the respin counter beside them. Stake controls sit behind a menu icon; confirm the stake first, since every tier and coin is a multiple of it. Balance, bonus progress and limits follow the login.
Safer play
HoldWin is for adults of legal gambling age. Deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion are in account settings; a lower limit applies at once and a higher one after a cooling-off period. The tier plaques are designed to be looked at, and the base game beneath them is long and quiet; the limit belongs to the base game. Independent help is available from Gamblers Anonymous (https://www.gamblersanonymous.org).
Support
The help centre at HoldWin covers the tiers, the full-grid rule, the special coins per game, whether a Grand is fixed or progressive, and the usual pages on verification, withdrawals, limits and bonus terms. The support team is reached by chat or contact form from the account menu; account matters are handled only with the verified holder.
Frequently asked questions
How is the Grand won?
By filling every position on the grid with coins before the respin count runs out, in most titles. A few games also have a Grand coin.
Do I need a larger stake to win a tier?
No, in fixed-tier games. The tiers are multiples of the stake and every stake is eligible. Progressive-Grand titles state their own rule.
What is a collector coin?
A coin that gathers the value of every other coin on the grid onto itself when it lands.
Which game fills the grid most often?
Games with reset or collector coins, such as the 3 Oaks titles. Games with plain coins only, such as Royal Joker, fill it least often.
Can I play the tiers in demo?
Yes. Demo mode pays the same tiers in demo credits, at the same RTP version as real play.
What currency does HoldWin use?
EUR for accounts, deposits and withdrawals.
Read the three facts at the top of a game page, run a few rounds in demo, set a deposit limit for the base game, and play. HoldWin adds new hold & win titles to the jackpot shelf with their tiers listed on the day they arrive.
